Your adventure continues on the water at the Grand Canal Basin where you will get to see Dublin for a whole new vantage point. Will I get wet? Only if it rains. You will not get wet from the water section of the tour. How long is the tour? Our tours last for approximatly 75 minutes. But can be longer depending on traffic in the city. Should I wear any special clothing? There is no need to wear anything special for our tour, though we do advise all passengers to please dress for the weather. Do not bring your own life jacket as we must insist that you wear one of ours. Booking Do I have to book in advance? Booking is not essential but it is strongly advised as seats are limited and we are, after all, one of Dublin’s most famous and best loved tours. How can I check availability? We operate seven days a week. Tour times vary depending on the time of year and day of the week. Typicall tours run every 30 minutes to 60 minutes from 10am up until 6:30pm. To find a time that suits you, click here Why cant I purchase a child ticket by itself? Child tickets can not be purchased by themselves as, we require all minors to be accompanied by an adult. If you are looking to add a child ticket to your existing booking, please call +353 1 707 6000. Price How much does it cost? We offer a variety of different ticket types along with discounted tours at selected times. To find the exact cost of a tour, select your ticket type here Do you offer discounts? Yes, we do. We accept Visa and Mastercard (credit and debit). If you are booking with the dispatcher you can pay cash; please note that we do advise booking a number of days in advance Departure How can I find you? The tour will finish back at St. Stephen's Green North What happens if I am late for my tour? When booking you will be advised that tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable and to be at the departure point at least 15 minutes prior to your tour time. Should you find yourself running late and do not think you will make the tour in time, or if anyone in your group has cancelled, please let us know as soon as possible. If you wish to bring an assistance dog on tour you must pre-book your place by phone (+353 1 707 6000) and a suitable tour time will be arranged. A complimentary place will be issued for the dog for the comfort of all on board. What do you see? Our route takes in most of the major sights in South Dublin City including: Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral, Viking Dublin, Medieval Dublin, Georgian Dublin, Government buildings, the Dublin Docklands plus much, much more! Who is it suitable for? The tour is suitable for the entire family from aged 2 - 102! The Vehicles do not have any windows so we do advise to wrap up well regardless of your age. Seatbelts and lifejackets are all provided Can children go on tour? Yes, of course. Children are very welcome on the tour! However for safety reasons children under 2 are not permitted on the tour. Do you offer different languages? Currently we do not offer different language option. Tours are only in english. However, language options will be coming very soon. Please check out our group bookings page where you can read all about our exclusive hire option. I am pregnant can I go on tour? Yes, you can. The Viking Splash Tour has been enjoyed safely and comfortably by women at all stages of pregnancy. Our tour is likened to taking a bus journey – the bench seating can be a little uncomfortable for the tour duration and so we would advise any passengers who would have difficulty sitting for long periods of time to consider if remaining seated for the 1 hour 15 minute tour duration is possible for them. There are no sudden bumps or gimmicks taken on tour – it is possible that the driver may have to brake suddenly on the road but this would only be as a direct response to a traffic situation and it would not happen on every tour. Do I have to wear a life jacket? Yes, you do. Here at Viking Splash your safety is very important to us. Therefore all our pasengers must wear a life jacket on the water. These are provided by Viking Splash Can I be dropped off? Unless you have booked with a group and organised an alternative drop-off point, your tour will start and finish at St. Stephen’s Green North. Tickets are non-transferable. About our Vehicles Are they safe? Viking Splash Tours operate seven original World War II amphibious vehicles known as DUKWs. Every year, each vehicle must undergo a full schedule of tests and surveys (as required by the Department of Transport) to ensure that they are road and marine compliant and operate to the highest standards of health and safety. How many can fit on one vehicle? One vehicle carries 28 passengers. Can I eat/drink/smoke/vape on the vehicles? No. No. No And no. We do not allow eating, drinking or smoking/vaping on board for a variety of health and safety reasons. School Tours Do you offer school tours? We offer school tours during school terms, yes. We have a variety of exciting partner options to avail of also! Vist our group bookings page to find out more. What age do students have to be? We offer tours for students from Primary School right through to Third Level. Third level students must have student ID to avail of student discounts. Do you offer student discount? We do offer a discount for students with ID, yes. Primary school and secondary school groups can also avail of our group discount if you are travelling with 10 or more. Where can we find the vehicle? Standard tours depart from Stephen's Green North. During May & June we operate a majority of our school tours from Bull Alley Street next to St Patrick's Cathedral. When you are making a booking you will be told if it is St Stephen's Green or Bull Alley Street and it will be clearly indicated on your invoice / confirmation email. What time can my school go? During May & June we have availability for schools Monday - Wednesday at 10am, 1130am, 2pm and 330pm and on Thursday & Friday at 10am and 1130am. What size group can you take? Each vehicle can accommodate a maximum of 28 passengers (we require 1 supervisor per 13 students) and during peak times we can operate 3-4 vehicles at one time. Groups going over this number (84) can be accommodated over 2 or more tour times if required. Do you offer packages? We have a number of fantastic packages for schools! Can groups have a private tour? Yes they can. We actually advise it. You can find out more on our group bookings page. Do you offer packages? Accessibility Can you store my buggy? There is limited space on board our vehicle to store buggies / strollers / prams. At the rear of the vehicle (not under roof cover) there is a storage space approximately 2 feet in width where we can store buggies. We ask that passengers travelling with a buggy ensure that it is collapsible and small enough to fit within this storage space i.e. an umbrella stroller. If this space is in use or if your stroller / buggy cannot fit it is your responsibility to make alternative arrangements to stow for the duration of the tour. Can you store my luggage? There is limited space on board our vehicle to store luggage. At the rear of the vehicle (not under roof cover) there is a storage space approximately 2 feet in width where we can store bags and suitcases. We ask that passengers travelling with a large luggage ensure that it is small enough to fit within this storage space. If this space is in use or your luggage cannot fit it is your responsibility to make alternative arrangements to stow for the duration of the tour Are you wheelchair accessible? We do carry wheelchair users on the Viking Splash Tour, but these passengers must be seated on a bus seat and be mobile enough to be assisted up the six steps at the rear of the vehicle by a member of your group. The wheelchair must be collapsible and can be stored at the rear of the vehicle behind the back seats. Can I bring my assistance dog? Viking Splash Tours welcome assistance dogs on our tours. If you wish to bring an assistance dog on tour you must pre-book your place by phone (+353 1 707 6000) and a suitable tour time will be arranged. A complimentary place will be issued for the dog for the comfort of all on board. Do you have toilet facilities? There are no toilet facilities at our departure point or throughout the tour. Passengers wishing to use toilet facilities are advised to do so before arriving for the tour. There are public toilets in St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre (top floor) and a number of restaurants and cafés in the vicinity of the departure point.
